Chocolate is something my voice has been compared to often, in Japan a critic talked at length about a rich chocolate mousse with whipped cream and, as you said, in London it became melting chocolate ice cream. The sweet stuff. I think, it must be an effect of singing in English, it changes my vocal quality, because it isn't my first language. It's as if my words huddle together or get muddled, half-fluid like ice cream or mousse. After I started singing in Japanese, Michelle told me at one point that my voice sounded like a slice of rocky road tastes - the cake, you know, with a surface of marshmallows and a core of darkness and crunch.
